How Jeroen Created a Reclining Beehive in His Garden
Looking for inspiration for a unique addition to your garden that is both functional and ecologically valuable? Discover how Jeroen created his own horizontal beehive using materials cut to size by TOSIZE.be.
The Step-by-Step Construction of the Beehive
The beehive created by Jeroen is a striking example of how a DIY project can contribute to biodiversity in the garden. This type of beehive, which lies flat rather than the conventional upright models, provides a natural environment for the bees. Using 28mm pine timber panels supplied by TOSIZE.be, Jeroen has constructed a durable and robust base for the hive.
Details that make the Beehive Unique
Jeroen's horizontal beehive stands out due to its white paint and transparent lid that provides a view of the busy bees. Ventilation holes and a raised access ensure an optimal living environment. The combination of functionality and aesthetics makes it a striking object in any garden.
Integrating the Beehive into the Garden
Not only does the beehive provide a home for vulnerable bee populations, it also fits perfectly into the natural environment of Jeroen's garden. It promotes pollination of plants and contributes to the health of the local ecosystem.
The Benefits of Building Your Own Beehive
Assembling a beehive yourself like Jeroen, allows you to design it completely to your own taste and taste. This allows you to choose not only the dimensions, but also the materials that fit within your budget and style preference.
The Selected Style of the Beehive
The minimalist style of the beehive with its smooth finish and harmonious integration into the natural environment shows that Jeroen has thought of both aesthetics and usability. The project reflects a modern flair that finds its place in nature.
The Benefits of Pine Carpentry Panel
Using 28mm thick pine carpentry panels has several advantages. The wood is not only sturdy and durable, but also easy to process for the do-it-yourselfer. Pine has a natural, rustic look that can develop a beautiful weathered patina over time, which adds to the charm of the beehive.

Step by step guide
Preparation
