Description by Bas
In our home, we had rotten planks on the two access hatches. We replaced these with custom-cut concrete plywood sheets. We sealed the edges with boat varnish to prevent moisture from penetrating.
How We Tackled This Access Hatch Project
- Measure twice, cut once.
- Asked for advice via chat and ordered through the website.
- Cut two planks at home to fit (including two cutouts).
- Created and attached a lip on the side for easy removal of the planks. The lip is made from a backpack strap.
- Sealed edges with boat varnish. Also applied a layer of boat varnish on the top and bottom (optional). However, this did not adhere completely well (I think I may have not done it perfectly).
- Finally, placed the doormat on top.
What are the dimensions?
